Donation Types
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the masjid is closed for congregational prayers. This has resulted in the masjid losing vital revenue from musallees which is usually collected during the weekly Jummah prayers, approximately £600 per week, that is used to pay for salaries, utility bills, and other running costs.
Despite the masjid being closed, we still need to continue to pay these costs and so we are asking the community to continue with their donations through the TotalGiving donation platform.
Please support our masjid as best as you can.
JazakAllah
Each Muslim must calculate his or her own Zakah individually. In simple terms, this involves adding up a person’s wealth (cash, bank balance, gold, silver, stocks, and shares) and then calculating 2.5% of it which is then distributed to the poor. This money cannot be used by the Masjid or for public services – it has to be given to the poor.
To make things easier for the community in the current climate, we are accepting zakaat via online payments. We guarantee that 100% of your zakaat money will be redistributed to the poor.
“Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
“The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Al-Tirmidhi)
Nafl Sadqah is a voluntary charity that one gives to the poor. A person gives this usually to solely earn reward and please Allah, or as a way to please Allah to remove a difficulty that they may have in their life.
Similar to nafl salah, there is no fixed amount that one can give – it is entirely up to the donor.
Nafl Sadqah donations made via the website will either be sent by us to poor people in developing countries, or be passed to one of the verified organisations that often visit the Masjid to collect money on behalf of, for example, Darul Uloom in developing countries.
Don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box!
All processing costs of the transaction will be taken from Gift Aid contributions, and not from your donation. If you pay UK income tax please tick the gift aid box.
We expect that even after claiming gift aid there will still be money left over which will also be donated.
