Please see below the excerpt of a letter that was distributed to students this week:
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
I pray that this letter reaches you in the best of health and Imaan.
Alhamdulillah we are approaching the end of the academic year at Chingford Islamic Society.
All praise be to Allah who has enabled us to provide Islamic education to our children. It is important that alongside sending our children to madressah to learn the Islamic sciences, we make an effort to follow up their progress outside lesson hours.
All students should have a copy of ‘A Child’s Gift’ (the second edition) and the Quran/Qaidah/Juz amah which they are reading from. Students should be up to date with the lessons learnt in ‘A Child’s Gift’. For example if the student is in year 4, they should have learnt all the duas/names of Allah/surahs which are in the ‘A Child’s Gift’ syllabus from reception until year 4.
It is essential that all parents play an active role not only in the academic education of their children, but also in their Islamic education. Parents are requested to spend at least 15 minutes a day in the holidays reviewing their children’s progress in ‘A Child’s Gift’ and encouraging them to read the Quran/Qaidah.
The summer holidays will start on Monday 30th July and will finish on Tuesday 28th August. All Students are to return back to madressah on Wednesday 29th August at their usual time to resume classes.
Finally, I would like to draw your attention to our website, www.chingfordmasjid.org, where you will find information relating to the madressah and masjid.
Wassalam,
Imam Mizanur Rahman
