‘Yaum-ul-arafah’ (day of arafah or 9th Dhul Hijjah) falls on Thursday 31st August this year.

It is wajib (obligatory) to recite takbeer al tashreeq from after the fard of fajr salaah on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah until after the fard of the asar salaah on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.

This corresponds with the fard of fajr on Thursday 31st August until the fard of asar on Monday 4th September.
