السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
We are currently in the month of Sha’bān, which is the 8th month of the Islāmic Calender.
It has been reported from ‘Ā’ishah radhiyallāhu ‘anhā that (outside of the month of Ramadān) the month wherein Rasūlullāh ﷺ would fast the most, would be the month of Sha’baan, to the extent that he would fast almost the entire month. (Sahīh-al-Bukharī)
Similarly, the virtues of the fasts of Ayyām-al-Bīd (i.e., 13th, 14th and 15th of the Islamic month) have been mentioned in many ahādīth.
This upcoming Friday 26th March, Saturday 27th March and Sunday 28th March will respectively be the Ayyām-al-Bīd (13th, 14th and 15th) of Sha’bān 1442.
Let us all take this opportunity to fast and beseech Allah ta’ala for his help.
It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to me: “It is sufficient for you to fast three days every month, because for every good deed you will have (the reward of) ten like it, so that will be like fasting for a lifetime.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (1874); Muslim (1159).
Since many of us due to our spiritual and/or physical weakness cannot fast the majority of the month, everyone is requested to try their utmost to fast these three days and earn this amazing virtue.
